Fi
July 1,2002
NOA ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT NUMBER LE02-233
I
This unit is 50 percent Jacktone clay and 35 percent Urban land. The components of
this unit occur as areas so intricately intermingled that it was not practical to map
them separately at the scale used (USDA, p.76).
Included in this unit are small areas of Hollenbeck and Stockton soils in landscape
positions similar to those of the Jacktone soil_ Also included, on the slightly higher
parts of the landscape, are small areas of Jacktone soils that have moderately coarse
textured or moderately fine textured overwash. Included areas make up about 15
percent of the total acreage(USDA, p.76).
The Jacktone soil is moderately deep to a hardpan and is somewhat poorly drained.
It formed in alluvium derived from mixed rock sources... Typically, the surface layer
is very dark gray and dark gray clay about 22 inches thick(USDA, p.76).
' Permeability is slow in the Jacktone soil. Available water capacity is moderate. The
shrink-swell potential is high(USDA, p.76).
Urban anlandconsists of areas covered by roads driveways, sidewalks, parking lots,
{ buildings, and other structures. The soil material under the impervious surface is
{ similar to that of Jacktone clay(USDA, p.76).
IV. REVIEW OF REGIONAL AND LOCAL REGULATORY AGENCY
RECORDS
1. Regional Water Quality Control Board
Our office reviewed the Leaking Underground Storage Tanks List (LUST) and the Spills, Leaks,
Investigations, and Cleanups List (SLIC) on file with the Central Valley Regional Water Quality
Control Board (CVRWQCB)in an attempt to determine if there are any files present at that agency
which note the unauthorized release of a tonic or hazardous agent into the environment on the subject
Eli property or within a one-quarter (114) mile radius of the subject property.
Our office reviewed the CVRWQCB Leaking Underground Storage Tank Information System list
dated September, 2001. The subject property was not listed on the database at the time that we
+ reviewed it. The CVRWQCB reports that there are no(0)correlations between the database and any
addresses within 1/4 mile of the subject property.
According to the CVRWQCB SLIC/DOD/DOE (Spills, Leaks, Investigations, and Cleanup
Sites/Federal Department of Defense Sites/Federal Department of Energy Sites) list dated January,
5
M
