Our Project Number: LES090550 Page 3 of 6
June 30, 2009
3.3 Water Sample Location and Constituents
One domestic and agricultural well exists on the site. One well permit was found during a
recent file review at EHD. A well water sample was taken from the domestic well on June 23,
2009 by Jessen Welch from the faucet attached to the house. The samples were analyzed for ( J
nitrate and DBCP. The sample for nitrate was collected in a sterile plastic container; the sample
for DBCP was collected in two sterile glass vials. The samples were then transported on ice and
remanded under chain of custody to FGL Environmental, Stockton. The results of these ,G
analyses are forthcoming.
4.0 GEOLOGIC AND SOIL PROFILE INFORMATION
The Site is depicted on the California Geologic Survey Map of the Sacramento Quadrangle as
within the Quaternary Modesto Formation Undifferentiated (Qm) and Quaternary Modesto
Formation Uppermember (Qm2). Qm is a unit of undifferentiated alluvial deposits, mainly
arkosic, forming the toe of the Mokelumne alluvial fan, generally covered by 0.3 to 1.0 m of
Holocene intertidal deposits. Qm2 is a unit of Arkosic alluvium forming Mokelumne River
terraces and alluvial fan; chiefly sand with minor gravel and silt; probably glacial outwash.
j (Plate 5, Appendix A).
I The surface and near surface soils located at the Site are reported by the San Joaquin County
Soil Survey to be composed of Boggiano clay loam and Cogna loam 0-2% slopes (Plate 6,
Appendix A) (USDA, 1992). The table below presents some selected properties of these soils:
I
Table 1
San Joaquin County Soil Survey
Elected Soil Properties of On-Site Soils
Soil Name Depth Salinity Soil Perme- Septic tank
and Map (in) Unified Soil Classification mmhos Reaction ability absorption
Symbol /cm pH (in/hr) fields
0-23: Clay loam; CL <2 6.6 - 7.8 0.2 - 0.6
23-48: Loam, clay loam, silt loam; <2 7.4 - 7.8 0.6 - 2.0
CL-ML, CL
- Moderate:
48-60: Cemented; ---
Boggiano, --- --- -- flooding,
110 18-38: Loam; CL-ML, ML <2 6.1 - 7.3 0.6 - 2.0 cemented pan,
38-60: Loam, clay loam, silt loam; <2 7.4 - 8.4 0.6 - 2.0 peres slowly.
CL-ML, ML, CL
25-64: Loam, clay loam, silt loam; <2 7.4 - 8.4 0.6 - 2.0
CL-ML, CL
Moderate:
Cogna, 129 0-25: Loam; CL-ML, ML <2 6.1 - 7.3 0.6 - 2.0 flooding,
eres slowly.
Note: The table descriptions do not necessarily reflect site-specific soil properties.
* See description of the map unit for composition and behavior characteristics of the map unit
'444
9 2 Industrial Way• Lodi,CA 95240.209.367.3701 -Fax 209.369.4228 ©2004 Nei!O.Anderson&Associates.Inc
