Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, CA 95205
Dear Mr. Martin:
Caltrans has reviewed the above Pre-Application (PA-0200244) for a truck stop, to include
es, truck repair and maintenance services, food services, convenience/retail
gasoline and diesel sal
cillary services-shower, laundry, telecommunications and
stores, 24 hour parking, an
entertainment, and a truck Street extension,The
west ect site
of Lodi (APN 055-320-50). SCaltrans provides
Route (SR) 12 and the St
the following comments:
I. A full and complete traffic study will be required to adequately determine mitigation needed
as a result of this project. Caltrans has created a Guide for the Preparation of Traffic Impact
Studies to assist project proponents and local agencies in understanding the informational
needs of Caltrans during the early planning processes. Please refer to this guide to ensure
sufficient information is included in the project's traffic study. If you need a copy of this
guide, please call Mike Higgins at (209) 948-3996 to request one.
2. After analysis of the preliminary site plans, Caltrans has concerns with the proposed northern
driveway entrance. The access point is approximately 300 feet from SR 12 and, therefore,
may pose a problem for truck turning movements into and out of the proposed project. At a
minimum, Caltrans would request this entrance provides right in/right out access only, and
the traffic study circulation plan should reflect this request.
3. Site plans should detail this proposal's connections to existing local road connections. In
addition, the proposed project's location relative to Caltrans existing Right of Way (R/W)
must be clearly shown to determine any necessary R/W requirements.
4. Caltrans will require a complete set of drainage plans to verify that storm and non-stormwater
discharges will remain on site and not affect SR 12.
if you have any questions, or would like to discuss these comments in more detail, please contact
Mike Higgins at (209) 948-3996 (email: mhi SinsPdot.ca. ov).
Sincerely,
TQDSWChief7
Office of Intermodal Planning
"Caltrans improves mobility across California'
606700.57.MARTINAON sTUPI-OPM.LLC
HIGGINS mec
