F1 <br /> FAptil 18, 2005 <br /> NOA Project Number: E05008B <br /> - No'ground water was encountered by the staff of Neil O.Anderson&Associates, Inc. during the <br /> drilling of the percolation test holes to a-depth of three and a-half feet on February 23, 2005. <br /> ' - 4.2 -Potential Ground Water Contamination Issues <br /> Identifying potential ground-water-contamination sources was not part of the scope of work for-the <br /> soil suitability study. A.Surface and Subsurface Contamination Report addressed this issue (NOA, <br /> 2003). Please refer to this report for descriptions. <br /> Potential ground-water contamination can occur.from a number of sources which often include <br /> -- leaky underground storage tanks, agricultural activities, dairies,.septic systems, and storm water <br /> infiltration. Any past agricultural activities and the present use of septic systems in the area should <br /> III be considered potential ground-water contamination sources. <br /> In the Tracy area, the 448-acre Tracy Defense Depot site was an Army Supply Depot from 1942 to <br /> 1963 when it was turned over to the Defense Logistics Agency is a source of potential groundwater _ <br /> i contamination. Operations at the facility included repacking leaking chemical containers, fumigating <br /> shipping materials,maintaining vehicles,painting, storing chemicals,preserving metal parts, <br /> o crating chemical andphotographic laboratories, storingand mixing pesticides, and storing <br /> and <br /> trea.ting <br /> liquid and solid wastes. Currently, all solid hazardous waste is hauled off site to Federally- <br /> approved disposal facilities. The shallow aquifer below the site is contaminated with volatile organic <br /> F1compounds (VOCs);i.e.,TCE,PCE and DCE. (U.S. EPA, 2005) <br /> 4.3 Water Sample Location _ <br /> F1 Noermits were found for the subject property address of 25122 South Banta Road. <br /> p <br /> 40 <br /> There are no operable wells on the subject property so no water sample was taken. <br /> F ,A# <br /> 5.0 SOIL PROFILE AND GEOLOGIC INFORMATION -� <br /> The Site is depicted on the Preliminary-Geologic Ma of the San Francisco - San Jose Cenozoic .r <br /> P �Y-. � p <br /> Deposits of the Tracy Quadrangle, California (1981), as within a region of Quaternary Fan deposits. <br /> - The unit is one of gravel, sand silt and clay (Plate 3). <br /> The surface and near surface-soils.located at the Site are.reported by the San Joaquin County Soil Survey <br /> Fi 016 ' <br /> to be composed of the Capay clay, 0-2% slopes 'El Solyo clay loam, 0-2% slopes, and the Vernalis <br /> clay loam, 0-2% slopes (Plate 4) (USDA, 1992).
