SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY <br /> Introduction <br /> Live Oak GeoEnvironmental, Inc (Live Oak) was contracted by Ken Robertson to <br /> conduct a Soil Suitability Study for his property located at 26781 and 26931 South <br /> Banta Road, Tracy, California (Plate 1). <br /> The Soil Suitability Study was conducted to determine whether the soils are suitable for <br /> use with a septic system. The study was performed according to the requirements of <br /> Section 9-1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County Development code. <br /> The formatting of the report has been designed to follow the recommendations of the <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department as described in its Soil <br /> Suitability Study Requirements Checklist. <br /> Proposed Development <br /> The proposed project is mor subdiviis4m o divide the property, int 4.53-aQre <br /> "Parcel 1, a 10.0-acre Par �signated remainder (Plate 2). chan sin <br /> use of the Site are proposed. <br /> Site Description <br /> The Site, Assessor's Parcel Numbers (APNs) 252-100-01 and -02, is approximately 50 <br /> acres in size. The County project application number is PA-1300054. The Site consists <br /> of new walnut orchard with a house and shop. Railroad tracks bound the Site on its <br /> western side. A recent aerial photograph of the Site is included as Plate 3. <br /> The elevation of the Site, according to a United States Geological Survey topographic <br /> map, is approximately 75 to 90 feet above mean sea level (Plate 4). The Site <br /> topography is relatively flat, with a slight grade down to the northeast. <br /> The San Joaquin County Community Development Department web site states that the <br /> Site is zoned AG-40, general agriculture with a minimum parcel size of 40 acres. This <br /> zoning designation "is established to preserve agricultural lands for the continuation of <br /> commercial agricultural enterprises." <br /> Past Uses of the Site <br /> Based on information reviewed for the Surface & Subsurface Contamination Report <br /> (Live Oak, 2011), the Site has been agricultural land since 1940 or earlier. One or more <br /> structures were present on the Site in 1940 or earlier in approximately the location of <br /> the current structures.
