PERCOLATION AND HYIIRAULTC„ N.
CODUCTI.I TY TEST RESULTS
SHALLOW PERC TEST PERC RATE IN HYD.COND.TEST GALLONS/SO FT/DAY
MIN/INCH
Homesite- Shallow(42 in.) 10.0 min/in Homesite- Shallow(24 in) 3.0 gals/ft2/day
III. NITRATE LOADING STUDY RESULTS
A. GROUNDWATER INFORMATION
1. ESTIMATED GROUNDWATER GRADIENT
The static water level in the Cole's domestic well was measured on August 9, 2001 and found to
be at a depth of.48!ft. The Lines of Equal Depth Map and the Lines of Equal Elevation Map
published by the San Joaquin County Flood Control District do not illustrate the groundwater
depth and elevation for the most recent year published (2000). However, the 1992 Lines of
Equal Elevation map illustrates the groundwater flow to be in a northeasterly direction: This
direction is confirmed by the contaminant plume originating from the Tracy Defense Depot.
2. ANALYSIS OF ON-SITE DOMESTIC WELL
The domestic well that serves the Cole homesite was purged at the well head before sampling.
Additionally, there is a water softener on the system; therefore, the sample was taken at the well
head to prevent potential influence from the softener. The nitrate concentration was determined
to be 38 ppm nitrate (as NO3), The Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) for nitrate (as NO3) is
45 ppm. DBCP and EDB were Below Detectable Limits (BDL). The MCL for DBCP is 0.0002
ppm or 0.2 µglL. A summary of the water well test results are as follows:
NITRATE'<AND DBCP/EDB CONC-ENTRATIONS
CO;(.,E Il{MESTI<C VELL
NITRATE CONC. SURFACE WATER INFORMATION
Surface water consists of all other water sources originating on the surface of the project, other
than septic system effluent. These sources include rainfall, surface runoff, domestic irrigation
and stormwater retention. The San Joaquin County of Public Works - Isohyetal Map indicate
..13inches of rainfall,to be the Mean Annual Precipitation in the area of the project.
Page -4-
Valfey AB.research
j
