eofr[Technics inc.
_ Page 8
& B Equipment
Additional Site Characterization WP Addendum
it ( Project No. 336.2
April 7, 1997
I
5.3 Well Survey
In trying to determine deeper geology for the site Geological Technics Inc. conducted a
comprehensive well survey by reviewing records at SJCPHSEHD and the State of California
Department of Water Resources (DWR). The well survey did not identify any wells in a
1,000 ft radius. A visual inspection will be performed in the area to locate any wells in the
j area. The purpose of the survey is to identify any municipal, domestic, or agricultural wells
that may impact the hydrogeologic parameters of this site. Identifying if any of these wells
l have a cone of depression that extends under this site may influence well head protection
measures.
5.4 Preliminary Fate and Transport Risk Assessment
A preliminary fate and transport risk assessment is proposed to identify potential receptors
t' and to evaluate the potential for these chemicals to impact public health or the environment.
We intend to identify nearby potential preferential migration pathways and potential recharge
areas. Field measured parameters will monitor plume stability or its tendency to degrade in
the natural setting and the potential for these chemicals to migrate and impact producing
water wells. The scope of the assessment will also include a comprehensive site inspection
and accessing building department records for information pertaining to the on site below
grade structures.
6.0 SCHEDULE & REPORTING
Geological Technics Inc. anticipates beginning field work in late April 1997 following work
plan approval, cost pre-approval from the USTCFP, and issuance of the monitoring well
permits. The information gathered during this phase of work, including the lateral and
vertical definition work, will be presented in a report which will include a summary of the
geology and the results of sample analyses. The project will be supervised by Dr. Ray
Kablanow, a registered professional geologist responsible for the work. Copies of the report
will be forwarded to both the appropriate County and State regulatory agencies.
U
L
6 ,
G ,
