CONCLUSIONS <br /> Based on the method and assumptions described, the result of the nitrate loading <br /> estimate indicates that the existing and proposed development on the Site should not <br /> cause a buildup of nitrates in the aquifer above 10 mg/L-N. <br /> It should be noted, however, that the existing level of nitrate in the ground water is <br /> already approaching the MCL of 10 mg/L-N. A water sample was collected from the <br /> domestic water well; nitrate was detected at a concentration of 9.5 mg/L-N in the <br /> sample. <br /> The depth of ground water based on recent aquifer levels is estimated to be 115 to 125 <br /> feet below ground surface. The ground-water flow is to the north or northeast at a rate <br /> of six feet per mile or less. <br /> Because of the favorable result of the nitrate loading calculation, no nitrate mitigation is <br /> recommended at this time. <br /> LOGE 1818 Page 10 <br />
