Bir; Road Facility Page 6 of 13
Project Number: E07183A
E November 30, 2007
FI
1
results. Generally speaking, coarser-grained soils have much greater potential for percolation
t than fine-grained or cemented soils.
i
I.6 Percolation Test Information
I.6.1 Percolation Test Locations
A site map indicating the locations of the percolation test holes is includedoPlate n the
rlappendix of this report.
F! I.6. ber of Percolation Tests
One shallow percolation test was conducted on roe for a total of one shallow percolation
P property rtY
F1
test.
I.6.3 Boring Preparation and Presaturation
One shallow percolation test hole was drilled on Site on November 19, 2007 using a hand /
auger.
A 1.5-inch diameter PVC pipe with perforations on the bottom was used to measure the drop of
water in the percolation test boring. Approximately 2 inches of "pea gravel" were placed in the,/-
bottom
hejbottom of the open soil boring, then the PVC pipe was installed on top of the gravel. "Pea
gravel"was then used to backfill in the annular space.
I j
Presaturation of the percolation test holes occurred approximately 24 hours prior to the
percolation test. The depth of water used to pre-soak was 12 inches above the bottom of the
j boring.
F1I.6.4 Condition of Borings After Presaturation
After the 24-hour soak period, the presaturated holes were found to be intact and dry on
F1 November 20, 2006. I
I.6.5 Percolation Test Procedure
F1
Percolation tests were conducted for the borings on November 20, 2007 in accord ce with the
requirements of the EHD. A percolation tests with a duration of fo ours wa rmed for
Fi each hole. The last half an hour of the test was observed by . Ted'Tasiopoulos, Re ' tered
Environmental Health Specialist, EHD.
Measurement of the water level during the percolation test was from a fixed reference point on
the PVC casing using an electric well sounder with an depth accuracy of 1/100th foot. All
tabulated values on the field data sheet (append x) are in decimal feet. After water drop was /
observed, the holes were checked for refill. The refill level was approximately 0.5 ft (6 inches)
H '00,04
n902 Industrial Way•Lodi,CA 95240.209.367.3701 ■Fax 209.369.4228 62007 Neil 0.Anderson&Associates,Inc
