SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY
I.1 Introduction and Proposed Development
The Soil Suitability Study (SSS) was conducted to determine whether the soils are suitable for
use with a septic system. The study was performed according to the requirements of Section
9-1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County Development code. A major element of the field work
included conducting percolation tests that meet the required absorption rates as required by
.. San Joaquin County, Public Health Services, Environmental Health Department (EHD).
In addition to conducting the percolation tests, a review of published soil information, geologic
maps, and ground water information was performed to evaluate the suitability of soils for use
with a septic system.
I.1.1 Site Description
The Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) for the Site is 250-100-03. The parcel is 42.39 acres in
size. The project involves the development of 23.5 acres of the land (Plate 1). The County
application number is PA-07-001-331. The Site currently has one residence on site. The
remainder of the property is vacant land.
The elevation of the Site, according to a United States Geological Survey topographic map, is
approximately 30 to 35 feet above mean sea level. The land is relatively flat.
According to the San Joaquin County Community Development Department (www.co.san-
joaquin.ca.us), the subject property is zoned I-W Zone (Warehouse Industrial). This zone is
intended to, "accommodate warehouses and service establishments catering to those uses
r. 902 Industrial Way•Lodi,CA 95240•209.367.3701 •Fax 209.369.4228 02007 Neil O.Anderson&Associates,Inc
