Bird Road Facility Page 4 of 13
Project Number: E07183A
November 30, 2007
I.4.2 Potential Ground Water Contamination Issues
Identifying potential ground-water contamination sources was not part of the scope of work for
the soil suitability study. Potential ground-water contamination can occur from a number of
sources which often include leaky underground storage tanks, agricultural activities, dairies,
septic systems, and storm water infiltration. Agricultural activities and the use of septic systems
in the area should be considered potential ground-water contamination sources.
I.4.3 Water Sample Location
One domestic well exists on the site. Two permits were found during file review at EHD. A
water sample was taken by Nancy Kramer of our office from the spigot of the domestic well on
site on November 30, 2007.
I.4.4 Water Sample Constituents
The water sample was analyzed for nitrate and DBCP. The results of this test are forthcoming.
I.4.5 Well Water Sample Collection, Handling, and Transportation
The sample for nitrate was collected in a clean plastic container; the sample for DBCP was
collected in two clean glass vials. The samples were then transported on ice and remanded
under chain of custody to FGL Environmental, Stockton.
I.4.6 Chain of Custody
The Chain of Custody document has been included in the appendix of this report.
I.S Soil Profile and Geologic Information
The Site is depicted on the California Geologic Survey Map of the San Francisco-San Jose
Quadrangle as within Quarternary Fan Deposits of fravel, sand, silt and clay (Plate 3).
The surface and near surface soils located at the Site are reported by the San Joaquin County
Soil Survey to be composed of Capay clay and Vernalis clay loam, both 0-2% slopes (Plate 4).
. 902 Industrial Way•Lodi,CA 95240•209.367.3701 •Fax 209.369.4228 02007 Nei[O.Anderson&Associates.Inc
