The locations and methods of
plume delineation confirmation testing would be proposed in a site
characterization work plan.
We recommend that C & B Equipment seek pre-approval from the USTCFP for
>: preparing an addendum to the original workplan proposing additional site
characterization work. Geological Technics Inc. will prepare an itemized cost
F=:< budget sheet for the recommended work.
• Once the lateral and vertical extent of the gasoline impacted soil and
groundwater has been fully characterized then a feasibility study could be
performed and remedial options could be evaluated. The options could include
but not be limited to intrinsic bioremediation, excavation, groundwater pump
and treat, and/or air sparging and soil vapor extraction. The nature of the site
may require that an approach utilizing combined technologies be employed to
mitigate this site. Goals of site remediation would be to remove the source of
petroleum contamination to the groundwater, containment of the groundwater
plume, mitigation of the groundwater plume to protect groundwater resources,
and to free this site from the environmental liability it now has.
As a matter of strategic project management we recommend that C & B Equipment
i conduct all site characterization and remediation activity under the supervision and
approval of the San Joaquin County Public Health Services in order to ensure that
maximum reimbursement is available from the USTCFP.
1
i
i
:i
I
J
