FVicki Kretsin er Page 3
Fusing numerical ground-water modeling techniques.
Managed project to
• g p investigate localized soil and ground-water contamination near a dry cleaning
F" facility. Work expanded to include consideration of soil gas and ground-water contaminant plume
interaction with about two dozen other potentially contaminated sites. Project included design of
vapor extraction program for.remediation, design of soil vapor pilot study for use in design of full
scale soil vapor extraction facility for PCE removal from vadose zone, design of ground-water
extraction
system for ground-water remediation designed monitoring program to assess decreasing soil vapor
concentrations, and design of program with methods and operations for assessing vapor extraction
system and cleanup.
r
• Managed investigation of former ship building facility of reclaimed Delta Island. Soil gas sampling
investigation and soil and ground-water contamination investigation.
• Managed project for shallow soil and ground-water contamination from pesticide rinsate. Work
' included site characterization development of a pesticide contamination mitigation plan and
negotiation with Regional Water Quality Control Board. Developed program to remediate soil and
extract/recycle ground-water.
• Investigated the correlation between delta channel conditions in the vicinity of Jersey island and
ground-water salinity beneath the island for historical and future scenarios (simulated conditions
' based on release flows in the delta area) by developing a numerical water quantity/quality model.
• Performed water well evaluations, aquifer testing, and water quality time series sampling in the
Soquel-Aptos area of Santa Cruz County, California. ' The testing and research enhanced the
historic data base (water level, water quality and hydrogeologic) and furthered ongoing development
of the regional ground-water monitoring program. Collaborating parties included the University,
Luhdorff and Scalmanini, Consulting Engineers, and the Soquel Creek Water District. The project
was funded through the University Public Service Research and Dissemination Program and the
Kellogg Foundation, and was supplementally funded by the University's Agricultural Experiment
Station.
F,'
Researched foothill and mountainous ground-water quality. Reported on the need for further
investigation and monitoring of sensitive recharge areas within these regions.
"' Professional Affiliations:
American Institute of Hydrology, Professional Member(1989 to present)
Fi American Institute of Hydrology, Board of Registration (1994 to 1996)
Association of California Water Agencies, Member
Groundwater Committee, Member(2002 to present)
Guidelines for Local Groundwater Management Plans, Task Force Member(2002, 2003) I
Association of Ground-Water Scientists and Engineers (Division of the National Ground Water
Association),
F AGWSE, Director(1998 to present)
AGWSE, Secretary-Treasurer(2002, 2003)
AGWSE, Chair(2004) j
F1NGWA, Board Observer (2002, 2003)
Statement of Capabilities
and Qualifications
F1
