The Interstate <br /> 5/Bird Road Interchange (Vernalis Interchange) Special Purpose Plan <br /> will specifically identify the planned roadway alignments and <br /> -right-of-way requirements for the Bird Road - realignment and <br /> extension to Gaffory Road and the interchange with Interstate 5. <br /> This proposed Special Purpose Plan follows an approval of a General <br /> Plan Amendment by the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors to <br /> incorporate into the General Plan a planned new interchange on <br /> Interstate 5 to serve the Vernalis area. An EIR was prepared and <br /> certified for this recent amendment to the General Plan, which is <br /> entitled The Vernalis Interhange EIR. The Community Development <br /> Department, as Lead Agency, is proposing to use the Vernalis <br /> -------`;---�-Iftt-efchange-EIR-a�s-the `EIR-for"this- Spec-ia-1 Purpbse- Plan. <br /> k Please note that the key issues involving the EIR are whether the <br /> EIR should be used for this project and whether there are any <br /> additional, reasonable alternatives or mitigation measures that <br /> should be considered as ways of avoiding :br reducing the <br /> significant effects of the project. 1, <br /> If you have any comments on this document, they should be submitted <br /> in written form to this office by April 28, 1997 .
