` near the Bird Road - Interstate 580 overcrossing and return via the same route once loaded. Speed
along Bird Road is near 45 to 55 MPH at the fastest point.
Measurements in the area of the generator and rock crusher show them to be somewhat greater in
noise production than the other major components of the sand plant. However, in the present location
of the plant, even these levels do not extend beyond the noise impacts of the adjacent freeway. The
65 CNEL, calculated without considering the embankment between it and the freeway, extend no
further than to the lanes closest to the plant. When the effects of the embankment are considered, the
65 CNEL will not extend significantly beyond the property line of the plant. While the 65 dBA
Maximum Noise Level of the rock crusher extends beyond the property line of the Sand Plant, the
area in which this level is exceeded is all within the bounds of the Interstate Highway. No area which
could be permanently occupied by human beings outside the plant will receive noise above the 65
dBA level.
TABLE 1.
Time of measurements made in vicinity of
the rock crusher
Run No Time Location Noise level
Run 1 1047 approx 75 ft to generator 74 db
Run 2 1049 35 ft to generator, idle power 80 db
Run 3 1051 100 ft perpendicular to rock crusher, idle 69 db
Run 4 1056 top of embankment above crusher, idle 64 db
Run 6 1059 same, crusher running 74 db
-- Run 7 1104 100 ft, 45 degree angle to crusher 73 db
Run 9 1106 50 ft, same direction 79 db
Run 10 1107 25 ft, same direction 83 db
Run 11 1109 30 ft, toward embankment from crusher 81 db
Run 12 1111 100 ft, perpendicular to conveyers south 78 db
Run 13 1113 50 ft, same direction 83 db
Run 14 1114 3 5 ft, generator at power 82 db
Mining operations of the raw material for the Sand Plant will not be of a nature that will cause the
noise levels outside the boundaries of the plant owned land to increase to adverse levels.
