' 5.3 Description of soil lithology as noted from test pit by appropriate professional using
industry standard protocol. The Soil in this area is classified as Guard Clay Loam, Kingdon
Fine Sandy Loam, Rindge Mucky Silt Loam, Ryde Clay Loam, partially drained, and Ryde Clay
Loam, Sandy substration as stated in the Soil Survey of San Joaquin County, as provided by the
United States Department of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service.
' 5.4 Discussion of soil lithology as related to future onsite septic uses: The San
' Joaquin Guard Clay Loam has slow permeability, Kingdon Fine Sandy Loam has a moderate
permeability, Rindge Mucky Silt Loam has a rapid permeability, and Ryde Clay Loam has a
moderately slow permeability. Thus percolation rates were varied but acceptable as
' demonstrated by the passing of all shallow percolation tests (See Appendix).
6.0 PERCOLATION TEST INFORMATION SECTION
6.1 Site map showing the location, with concise and accurate dimensions of the percolation
test holes on the parcel: See Appendix.
' 6.2 The minimum number of shallow and deep percolation tests were performed for each
parcel: Two shallow percolation test holes were prepared, one on each proposed parcel. No deep
' percolation tests were necessary.
6.3 Description of the date, time and protocol used to prepare the test hole, including
depth and dimensions of hole, preparation of hole, and depth of water used to presoak
(minimum 12 inches): The shallow test hole was excavated to a depth of 42 inches and 8 inches
in diameter and backfilled with 2 inches of "pea gravel" in accordance with County Standards.
' The shallow holes were prepared by Shaun Mackey of Dillon and Murphy on March 17, 2017. On
March 19 at 7:30 a.m. the 24 hour presoak period was started. The holes were filled with 12 inches
of water over the gravel.
' 6.4 Description of the date, time and condition of the test hole after the 24-hour soak period
(hole still intact, hole dry, preparation of hole, and depth of water used to presoak(minimum
' 12 inches): On March 20, 2017 at 7:30 a.m. the two shallow test holes were dry. Six inches of
water was added and the holes were deemed suitable to continue. The shallow test passed the
minimum County requirements.
1 6.5 The test conformed to SJC Policy EH 02-02 (correct depth, diameter, 2" gravel,6" water
refill, correct readings recorded). The percolation test conformed to San Joaquin County Policy
EHD 02-02.
6.6 Complete Percolation Test Form (including readings) was provided with REHS
' verification signature. The rate was correctly calculated using the last reading. See Appendix
for Test Results Form.
t3
