The Riverbank Formation <br /> was mapped in'the"�ekeford area by Marchand and Bartow"+z in 1979,(Plate 6). The upper and <br /> ji <br /> middle units contain material that is chiefly composed of sand derived from glacial outwash. The <br /> upper and middle units of the Riverbank Formation observed on the site during shallow drilling. ' j <br /> appear to contain.more fine grained materials rather than sand as suggested by the ge'ologic'map. <br /> The surface and near surface soils located at the proposed project location are reported to <br /> be the San Joaquin loam(Plate 7). .The San Joaquin loam is described by the Soil Survey report <br /> as"moderately deep to a hard pan and moderately well drained.
