Main Street
Stockton, CA 95202
i
Subject: Lockeford Oaks, Tract 2943, Lockeford, Ca .
Dear Ms. Lagorio,
During our telephone discussion yesterday you pointed out that there is a discrepancy
between the test well location dimensions indicated on the permit drawing and the subdivision
improvement plans left with your office. Frankly, I had no answer to provide at the time.
Following our conversation I contacted the well driller, I reviewed the permit and the permit =
drawing, and I contacted the land surveyor of the project to determine if he had located the
test well during his survey. I surveyor provided me with a plan that locates the test well based
on his survey of the property. The test well is actually 1,390.5' (1,400') from Jack Tone Road,
not 1,700' as noted on the permit application; within the proposed permanent well site and
according to the subdivision improvement plans.
As I noted during our telephone conversation, the test well location and the location of the new
municipal water well is the same. Apparently, the well driller estimated the location of the test
well on the permit application, resulting in the 300' discrepancy. I have left a copy of the
permit and the land surveyor plan for your files.
We are currently attempting to finalize our subdivision map through the San Joaquin County
Public Works Department. However, the public works department is requiring that we seek
approval from your office with respect to a condition that requires that we destroy the test well #
that was drilled several years ago for this subdivision.
We acknowledge that a great deal of time has lapsed since the permit was issued; which I
explained in yesterday's letter. However, we are now finalizing the subdivision map and the
improvement plans and we intent to convert as part of this project the test well to a permanent
municipal water well for our development as well the community of Lockeford.
We respectfully seek removal of the condition to destroy the test well, and that communication
is provided to the public works department verifying removal of the condition. The contact
person at San Joaquin County Public Works is Alex Chetley (209-468-3023).
If there should be any questions, please me at 209-679-5204 (cell).
Si a ly,
Benjamin J.
