i
I
F
- December 23, 2005
NOA Project Number: E05174A
4.0 DISCUSSION OF NITRATE LOADING RESULTS
1
4.1 Total Nitrate Impact
According to the Hantzsche and Fennemore equation, approach, and assumptions discussed, the
n
potential for buildup of nitrates in the ground water was estimated to be 1.4 mg/L-N on parcel
- 023-170-08. The other two parcels are not expected to have any septic uses. The calculated Nc
value of 1.4 mg/L-N is well below the safe drinking water standard of 10 mg/L-N. Based on the
information discussed, the potential impact to ground water sources and surface water sources from
the use of septic systems is estimted to be low.
n
4.2 Methods of Mitigation
r.
No methods of mitigation are proposed for the existing onsite septic use. No future septic systems
' are planned.
All manure and compost operations will be discussed in the manure plan which will be prepared by
I SKS Enterprises Incorporated. The California Regional Water Quality Control Board is being
n contacted by SKS Enterprises Incorporated to determine the Board's requirements for the project.
r
r 5.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Our office concludes that the Site is suitable for development. No additional septic uses are
planned, though employee staffing is expected to increase slightly in five years when full build out is
expected. The proposed new septic system shown on the Site Plan is not planned to be constructed.
In fact, the proposed area is confined and is most likely unsuitable due to required EHD setbacks.
" 5.1 Signatures
i
gThe signatures of the environmental professionals involved in the preparation of this report can be
H ' found on the cover sheet at the front of this package.
v 5,2 Attachments
i I
All required attachments and appendices can be found at the rear of this package.
v 6.0 LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed, our findings obtained, and our conclusions proposed in
' accordance with generally accepted engineering principles and practices.
