Exhibits 4 and show cross sections of ti proposed quarry.
Figure 4 is a typical cross section for the reserve area. As
- shown in these cross sections, KRC will ensure that excava-
tion side slopes will be no steeper than 1. 5 horizontal to 1
vertical. KRC intends to use all available overburden to
_ backfill the excavation to reduce these slopes during recla-
mation. All slopes will be seeded. If necessary to control
erosion, additional erosion control measures will be taken.
Such measures may include mulching, installation of erosion
control fabric and other appropriate practices on a case by
case basis.
As shown on Exhibit 3 , no quarry activities will take place
in any of the major drainages that are located on this
property.
25. If applicant plans short-term phasing of reclamation, de-
scribe in detail specific reclamation to be accomplished
during first phase:
Reclamation will be accomplished in phases as indicated on
the Phase Map, Exhibit 6. The phases of reclamation follow
_ the phases of mining, with each phase lasting approximately 5
years. For example, when mining is completed in Phase 1 and
has commenced in Phase 2 , reclamation will commence in Phase
1. Reclamation in each phase will follow the procedures
described under #24 above.
26. Describe how reclamation of site in this manner may affect
future mining at the site and in the surrounding area:
Reclamation of the site in the manner described above will
have no adverse impacts upon future mining at the site and in
- the surrounding area. It is anticipated that no economically
recoverable sand or aggregate reserves will remain at the
site following cessation of the mining operation. Thus, this
site will not be a candidate for further mining. Cessation
of the mining operation and reclamation of this site will not
impact any off-site surrounding areas. Any future mining in
the surrounding area can proceed as is economically feasible
and permitted.
— KRC Aggregate, Inc.
- 10 - April 1, 1994
