/SOILSUITABILITY STUDY, ACAMPO ESTATES
Page No. 5
a deep pit percolation test. For approximate location of the percolation tests see the
Location Map in the Appendix.
The percolation tests were performed in 8 inch diameter test holes. For the shallow
tests, a 3 inch diameter perforated pipe measuring device was placed in each test hole and
backfilled with 3/4 inch gravel. For the deep pit tests, a 4 inch diameter perforated pipe
was placed in each hole and backfilled with 3/4 inch gravel. All test holes were filled with
water 24 hours prior to running the tests. The last ten minutes or 30 minutes (whichever
applied) of the test readings were witnessed by a San Joaquin County health official and the
test data obtained is contained in the Appendix. A summary of the percolation test results
is presented next:
Diameter of Depth of
Test No: Hol in Hole (feet)- Percolation R in in
B1-1 8 3.0 ' 240 .
;I
B1-2 8 X2.0 - - - 0.3 i
B2-1 8° 3.0 ` 320 ;
B2-2 8 425.0 4.3
B3-1 81 3.0
B3-2 8 20.0 .. 0.2
a
VII CONCLUSION
Based on the' results of the percolation tests, the soil profile, and the past
performance of the existing septic systems on and around the surrounding property, it is our
opinion that the subject property should be suitable for construction of typical on-site
sewage disposal systems. Where cemented surface soils exist, these systems should consist
of a septic tank, leach. field, and dry wells. It is recommended that leach lines terminating
in a dry well should be a minimum of 80 feet long. Proposed systems should be property
designed and installed according to current San Joaquin County criteria.
oesso
N
 w
9SS 0GS
P
