_1 S - 92 L-4e33 1 '. 3 "7 33RAY GEIGER F 33G1U I ST
November 18, 1992
VIA FAX (209) 468-3163
Ms. Loree Goold
San Joaquin County Planning Division
1810 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, California 95205
Res Proposed Morsda Area Project
Dear Ms. Goold:
I am writing to urge you to require a new environmental impact report on the
Morada area project currently being proposed by Jim Carroll. The original
environmental impact report was prepared three years ago when this project was
configured differently. Factors have now changed since that original PIR was prepared
which would warrant reconsideration of all the environmental impacts occasioned by this
project: the density has increased traffic circulation has been altered, we are in the
seventh year of a drought; substantial overcrowding exists in the Lodi School District.
This project, in addition to removing valuable agricultural land, also damages the
existing surrounding farms. It will become increasingly difficult to conduct efficient
agricultural practices and procedures with the close proximity of a 37-unit development.
In discussions held at a recent.Morada-MAC meeting, most residents, if not all,
opposed the development and were extremely concerned with the traffic which would be
generated and the further degradation of the ground water aquifers.
Please consider these factors in your development committee meeting as I believe
a new and updated environmental impact report needs to be prepared before further
consideration can be given to this proposed major subdivision.
I
iy yours,
_ N G G
5447 t H' dre Lane
Stockt rnia 95212
