Gau, Senior Civil Engineer <br /> Development Services Division <br /> SUBJECT: OTHER BUSINESS FOR THE 12-17-92 PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> HEARING: MAJOR SUBDIVISION APPLICATION NO. SU-92-14 <br /> (TRACT NO. 2576) OF MAX AND JOAN LEE (DISCUSSION OF STORM <br /> WATER DRAINAGE CONDITION) (SUPERVISORIAL DISTRICT 4) <br /> ----------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> We are requesting that the Planning Commission clarify its <br /> intention on the Condition of Approval for storm drainage and <br /> either (1) direct staff to revise Condition of Approval No. 2 .d. or <br /> (2) let the Condition of Approval remain as adopted. <br /> Condition No. 2 .d._ of the Department of Public Works: <br /> Individual storm drainage retention ponds shall be provided on <br /> each lot to meet the requirements of the County and to provide <br /> adequate drainage for the subdivision. Drainage of the <br /> northern 778 feet of Hacienda Drive shall be confined to <br /> subdivision lots, or terminal drainage that is metered to <br /> predevelopment runoff shall be drained into the existing <br /> drainage swale. (Development Title Section 9-1135. 2) <br /> The above Condition was included in the 'staff report for the <br /> application' s October 1, 1992, Planning Commission hearing. At the <br /> hearing, staff recommended that the Condition be revised as follows <br /> to require terminal drainage, rather than individual retention <br /> ponds: <br /> Proposed Revision to Condition No. 2 .d. : <br /> A drainage study shall be performed to determine upstream, <br /> project site, and downstream flow characteristics. Drainage <br /> from the project site shall be to roadside ditches and <br /> discharged to the existing drainage swale through the <br /> property. The drainage swale shall be cleaned and improved. <br /> The roadside ditches and drainage swale shall be sized to <br /> limit the off--site drainage from the project to predevelopment <br /> flow rates. <br /> A lengthy discussion regarding drainage on the property and in the <br /> area was followed by a motion to approve the subdivision subject to <br />
