Cascade Energy Storage, LLC Battery Storage Project <br /> and is recyclable. <br /> • Assist California in meeting its greenhouse gas emissions reduction goals by 2020 and 2030 as required <br /> by the California Global Warming Solutions Act(Assembly Bill 32), as amended by Senate Bill 32 in 2016. <br /> • Assist California in meeting its energy storage procurement targets as outlined in Assembly Bill 2514 (AB <br /> 2514) and the resulting California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) decision for energy storage <br /> procurement targets for each of the Investor Owned Utilities (IOUs) totaling 1,325 megawatts (MW) to <br /> be completed by the end of 2020 and implemented by 2024. Additionally, at the federal level, the <br /> Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Order No. 792 provides clarity through its direction to <br /> transmission providers to define electric storage devices as generating facilities enabling these resources <br /> to take advantage of generator interconnection procedures. <br /> • Allow PG&E to provide reliable and green energy to customers in their service territory. <br /> 1.4 Environmental Setting <br /> 1.4.1 Regional Setting <br /> The project is located approximately 1.7 miles north of Stockton Airport immediately adjacent to the Pacific <br /> Gas and Electric Weber substation, in an area that can be generally characterized as an agricultural <br /> community with single-family subdivision housing. <br /> 1.4.2 Surrounding Land Uses and Project Site Condition <br /> Surrounding land uses include single-family residential to the north, vineyards to the east, PG&E easement <br /> and single family residences to the south, and the PG&E Weber substation to the west. The project site <br /> appears to have been previously disturbed for vegetation management but is not currently being used for <br /> any purpose. No lands within the project site are subject to a Williamson Act Land Use contract. <br /> The entire project site is located within Flood Zone X as designated by the Federal Emergency Management <br /> Agency (FEMA). The FEMA Flood Zone X designation is used for areas determined to be outside the 0.2% <br /> annual chance floodplain. <br /> 1.4.3 Public Services <br /> The project will be served by the San Joaquin Sherriff's Office Department and the Stockton Police <br /> Department for law enforcement and public safety. The Stockton Fire Department will provide fire protection <br /> and emergency medical and rescue services. The closest police station is located at 22 E Market Street, <br /> Stockton, CA 95202. The nearest Fire Station is Fire Station 3 and is located at 1116 E 1St Street, Stockton, CA <br /> 95206.
