COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT
1810 E.HAZELTON AVE.,STOCKTON.CA 95205-6232
4
PHONE:2D91468-3121 Fax:2091468-3163
i,&J6
MEMORANDUM
DATE: May 20, 1998
TO: Tom Gau, Senior Civil Engineer
FROM: Jon Moor Deputy Director
SUBJECT: Review of wplication#SU-97-1
I have reviewed the information you provided related to application #SU-97-1 to determine if
the Density Bonus Program is applicable to this project.
Chapter 9-315, Residential Zones: Density Bonus, of the San Joaquin County Development
Title allows for increased densities for residential developments providing affordable housing.
The information provided by the applicant is insufficient to determine whether the residential
density program bonus applies.
Based on the information provided, it appears as if the applicant is only developing residential
lots and not affordable housing. The development of small lots in and of itself does not
constitute "providing affordable housing".
Therefore, it is my interpretation that this application does not meet the intent of the Density
Bonus Program and thus no increased unit densities beyond what is allowed by existing
zoning should be permitted.
Should you have any questions, please call me at 8-3065.
JM:jW
Jon1SU-97-1
