"Because of this overcrowding, the district mush receive a commitment from
the developer of any new subdivision that provides for adequate school facility mitigation in
{ tandem with home construction. :i
Presently, the SUSD has in place a new-development Mello-Roos assessment that meets its
school facility mitigation needs. The basis of Community Facilities District #2 (CFD #2)'is as
follows: school facility mitigation is charged at a rate of $3.01 per square foot of habitable
building space for any new home within the boundaries of CFD #2. This.assessment is payable in
two installments; namely, $500 at the time that the building is requested, with the remainder being
due at the close of escrow or within 240 days, whichever comes first.
Please advise this project's developer, Quartaroli & Associates, that the district will oppose the
approval of their major subdivision pre-application until an annexation into CFD #2 can be
executed or a separate mitigation agreement that is equal in value to the annexation can be
k negotiated.
Thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter. I look forward to discussing this'issue
further with the project developer and yourself
Sincerely, '
LICArt Hand, Jr.
Director, Support Services
cc: George E.
