Site Characterization Report: 7500 West Eleventh Street, Tracy, CA Page 17
1,2-Dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) EPA Method 8260A
Total Lead EPA Method 200.7
* The fuel oxygenates for which the groundwater samples were analyzed were: tertiary-
Butyl alcohol (TBA), Methyl-tertiary butyl ether (MTBE), Di-isopropyl ether (RIPE),
j Ethyl tertiary-butyl ether(ETBE), and tertiary-Amyl methyl ether(TAME).
The results of the analyses of samples of groundwater are presented in Table 2.
3.8 Disposal of Drill Cuttings and Well Development and Purge Water
The drilling of borings, development of wells and well purging generated drill cuttings
and water potentially affected by petroleum hydrocarbons. As the subsurface
investigation progressed, these materials were placed in open-topped 50-gal. drums
equipped with sealable lids. The drums were temporarily staged on the 7500 West
Eleventh Street property.
When the results of the analyses of soil and groundwater results were available, the
drummed soil and water was classified and water unaffected by analytes of concern was
;- discharged to the ground surface of the 7500 West Eleventh Street property; clean soil
was mingled with the native soil on the site. Drill cuttings and affected water were
disposed off-site as follows.
3.8.1 Disposal of Drill Cuttings
Drill cuttings affected by petroleum hydrocarbons were removed from the drums and
loaded onto a truck for disposal at Forward, Inc.'s Class II facility in Manteca, California.
3.8.2 Disposal of Well Development and Purge Water
On June 21, 2000, 300 gal. of well development and purge water was transferred from the
50-gal. steel drums into a vacuum struck and transported to the Demenno Recycling
Facility in Compton, California for disposal.
The empty drums that had been used to store the drill cuttings and well development and
purge water were cleaned and have been retained on the 7500 West Eleventh Street
property, where they will be used to store purge water from future rounds of groundwater
sampling and analysis.
i -?
i
sic
l
