1
i n
SJV UAPCD
Suggested Construction Site
Mitigation Measures
 g
The SJVUAPCD suggests that the project applicant take all feasible measures to
reduce the amount of dust (fine particulate matter-PMia) and ozone precursors
(Reactive Organic Gases (ROG), and Oxides of Nitrogen (NO2, NOJ that will result
from this construction project. Specifically, the District suggests that the following
Mitigation Measures be included as part of project approval:
i.
1 . s All material excavated, graded or otherwise disturbed should be sufficiently
watered to prevent excessive amounts of dust. Watering should occur at least
twice daily with complete coverage, preferably in the late morning and after
3 work is done for the day.
2. All clearing, grading, earth moving, or excavation activities should cease when
wind speeds are equal to or greater than 20 mph.
3. On-site vehicle speed should be limited to 15 mph.
,F
Ozone Precursors-Ozone precursor emissions should be controlled by the following
methods:
4. All internal combustion engine driven equipment should be properly maintained
and tuned according to manufacturers specifications.
5. Idling of all internal combustion equipment shall be limited to ten minutes at any
given time.
6. Use of building materials that do not require the use of paints/solvents.
i
r
I I.
'f
I!
I!
