CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
In summary, the soil conditions in the percolation test location appear to be suitable for
use with an on-site septic system. A satisfactory soil percolation rate of less than 1.34
min/in was observed in the test location. No new construction is planned for the Site.
The depth of ground water based on recent aquifer levels is estimated to range between
40 to 45 feet below ground surface. The ground-water flow is to the northwest at a rate
of approximately 10 feet per mile.
A water sample was collected from the domestic water well. Nitrate was detected at a
concentration of 0.6 mg/L-N in the water sample. DBCP was not detected in the
sample. The US EPA has set the Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) for nitrate as
nitrogen at 10 mg/L and the MCL for DBCP at 0.2 ug/L.
We believe the Site suitable for the use of standard septic systems utilizing leach lines
and sumps or a filter bed.
LOGE 1618 Page 8
