Work Plan for Refined Plume Definition and Management of Floating Product-7500 W 11th St., Tracy, CA. Page 9
site at that time (The San Joaquin Company 2002c). The records of groundwater elevations
%.000 in, and the concentrations of analytes of concern in samples of groundwater recovered from
them, are also included in Tables 1 and 2.
Note:
i6. According to the quarterly schedule for groundwater-quality monitoring using MW=
1 - MW-7 that was initiated in May 2000 following completion of the first phase of
site characterization at the Navarra Site, a round of monitoring would have been due
in late March 2002. However, to avoid unnecessary expenditure of USTCF grant
funds, SJC's engineer delayed implementation of that quarterly round two weeks,
until April 11, 2002, so that the complete array of 15 monitoring wells that had been
AWN completed by that time could be included in the sampling program.
4.5 Annual, Semi-annual and Quarterly Groundwater-quality Monitoring Program
Quarterly groundwater-quality monitoring with recovery of samples from all 15 wells
continued until July 2003 when, in compliance with guidance provided by the SJCEHD (San
Joaquin County Environmental Health Department 2003), a schedule for annual, semi-annual
and quarterly groundwater-quality monitoring for different well sets went into effect (The
San Joaquin Company 2003a).
4.6 Potable Water Supply Wells
..,.. As was requested by the SJCEHD (San Joaquin County Public Health Services, 1999b), the
first phase of site characterization conducted at the 7500 West Eleventh Street site included a
search for drinking water, agricultural and industrial wells within a 2,000-ft. radius of the site
(The San Joaquin Company Inc. 2001g).
In a letter dated October 26, 2001 (San Joaquin County Public Health Services 2001a),
SJCEHD requested an additional search for residential, industrial and commercial wells,
including a compilation of all available data regarding well construction details and other
information about each of the wells identified in the area. However, the USTCF refused to
fund that open-ended search for well information. Instead, they restricted the search for, and
preparation of a compilation of available data regarding, the construction details and use
those wells in which the groundwater may be at least at some risk of being affected by the
— release of hydrocarbon fuels at 7500 West Eleventh Street.
Available information about the wells found in the area of the 7500 West EIeventh Street site
- is shown in Table 5. The locations of the wells that remain extant in the immediate area are
shown on Figures 2 and 4. Table 5 includes information on two wells along the north side of
West Eleventh Street that were recently installed under SJC's engineering oversight, one in
August 2002, at 7601 West Eleventh Street and the second, which is currently under
construction at 7675 West Eleventh Street: The latter well will permit future closure of the
existing water supply well at that location, groundwater in which contains high
concentrations of nitrates.
sic
