Page 80 <br /> 11.0 UNDERGROUND <br /> UTILITY LOCATION AND PERMITTING <br /> 11.1 Detection of Underground Utilities <br /> Before any monitoring wells are installed or remedial excavations opened, to provide safe <br /> working conditions, SJC will notify United Services Agency (U.S.A.) so the areas where <br /> such work is to be performed will be surveyed by the concerned utility companies who will <br /> mark the locations of gas and water supply pipes, electric lines and other utility infrastructure, <br /> that is present beneath the ground surface. Detection of buried utilities will be supplemented, <br /> as necessary, by a specialist contractor retained by the engineer. <br /> 11.2 Permitting <br /> The following permits and authorizations will be obtained from the SJCEHD and the <br /> SJCDPW for implementation of the remediation program.
