We have owned property to the southeast of the poultry
ranch since 2006 and have seen improvements made to this existing ranch. We
appreciate the fact that they are imiproving the facility but we have not been made
aware uiiui now by a neighbor that they want to expand to over double the amount of
birds.
We have been dealing with the smell and the flies and do not enjoy either of
those. There are times when the smell is so bad that it is literally nauseating. Have you
ever smelled incinerating dead birds? Increasing their flock will also i^crease the
amount of flies as well as the stench. I am writing to you to ask that you not allow this to
take place.
I have a sister and brother-in-law that live in Oakdale near a turkey ranch. That
ranch went organic and now are unable to spray for flies. Their home is so covered with
flies that the walls look black. They no longer sit outside due to the number of flies.
They can only do so much to control their own property from flies. I do not want to see
it get that bad here and with all the organic craze I feel that is where this ranch is
headed as well. I cannot sit back and let it happen and not stand up for what I feel.
Please, consider the neighborhood surrounding this project and the increase of
traffic,-the flies and the odor. We love our home and farm and want to stay on i good
terms with our neighbors. Please, no more chicken houses!
Sinerely
Ian and Alice Koetsi-r and Family
4200 Carter Rd
Farmington, CA 95230
a.ikoets@gmaii.com
209-404-042
