Extended Plume Definition:4500 W 11th St., Tracy,CA. page 8
3.4 Extended Quarterly Groundwater-quality Monitoring Program
" On April 11, 2002, the scope of the groundwater-quality monitoring program at the Navarra
Site was expanded to include quarterly recovery of samples from each of the 15 monitoring
wells extant on the site at that time (The San Joaquin Company 2002c). The records of
groundwater elevations in, and the concentrations of analytes of concern in samples of
groundwater recovered from them, are also included in Tables 3 and 4.
Note:
According to the quarterly schedule for groundwater-quality monitoring using wells
MW-1 - MW-7 that was initiated in May 2000 following completion of the first
phase of site characterization at the Navarra Site, a round of monitoring would have
been due in late March 2002.However,to avoid unnecessary expenditure of USTCF
+ grant funds, SJC's engineer delayed implementation of that quarterly round for two
weeks, until April 11, 2002, so that the complete array of 15 monitoring wells that
had been completed by that time could be included in the sampling program.
3.5 Annual, Semi-annual and Quarterly Groundwater-quality Monitoring Program
-- Quarterly groundwater-quality monitoring with recovery of samples from all 15 wells then
present at the Navarra site continued until July 2003 when, in compliance with guidance
} provided by the SJCEHD (San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division 2003), a
i-- schedule for annual, semi-annual and quarterly groundwater-quality monitoring for different
well sets went into effect.
Detailed results of the site characterization and groundwater-quality monitoring programs
that have been completed to date have been presented in a series of engineering reports
prepared by SJC (The San Joaquin Company 2004, 2003b, 2003c, 2003d, 2003e, 2002a
2002b, 2002c, 2002d, 20014, 2001 e, 2001f, 2001g,). The April 2004 sampling round is
detailed in Section 4.10 below.
After installation of seven additional groundwater-quality wells in April 2004 as part of the
additional site characterization work that is documented in this report, the currently adopted
program of groundwater-quality monitoring is again based on a quarterly schedule with
groundwater samples being recovered from each of the 22 extant groundwater-quality
monitoring wells on the site.
Nosoorr
SJC
