AO
I
KLEINF^'tELDER
File No. 20-3551--01
June 26, 1992 • EUV VC L;
. Mr. Bert Sandman JUN 2 9 1992ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
A. Teichert & Son, Inc.
P.O. Box 15002 PERMIT/SERVICES
t Sacramento, CA 95851
Subject: ADDENDUM TO SEPTIC SYSTEM SUITABILITY STUDY
REPORT DATED JANUARY 27, 1992
SUBDIVISION ON NORTH CLEMENTS ROAD
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
Dear Mr. Sandman:
This letter addresses several questions from Mr. James Miller with
San Joaquin County Environmental Health regarding the referenced
septic system suitability stud ort. Reference Y re P is also made to
our report dated May 26, 1992 , which was prepared for the subject
project,
i
Our responses to Mr. Miller' s questions are as follows:
• We understand that the site is surrounded by pasture
on all four sides, which has been the case for as
long as Bert 'can remember. The site has been used F
strictly as pasture for the last three years. Prior i
to the last three years, port;ons of the site
contained vineyards and olive orchards.
• The percolation tests were performed on January 21
and 22, 1992 . The test holes were presoaked per
County guidelines the days before testing (January
20 and 21, 1992, respectively) and were left to soak
overnight.
- r
• As noted in Table I on page 3 of our January 27,
1992 report, only one 3-foot deep test passed, and
it just met the minimum percolation rate acceptable
by the County for standard leach lines. The deeper
tests produced significantly faster results.
Therefore, although one 3-foot deep test did pass,
it is our opinion that septic systems at. the site
will likely have to be designed using sump pits,
extending to minimum depths of approximately 8 to 10
feet. Once the remainder of the lots are tested,
the required depths of the sump pits can be
determined.
KLEIRPKI K 1gz5KEas%Ldrtle'Stree[, Stockton, CA 95205 (209) 948-1345
