This Twenty-Year
Facilities Master Plan found that new residential development and the approval of general plan amendments, zone
changes for residential development and other development applications have a significant impact on our Districts.
Following is a summary of the impacts that would be created by this Project.
1. Residential development generates enrollment growth in the Districts. Each new single family
home generates, on average, 0.55 additional K-8 students and 0.23 additional 9-12 students.
2. The Districts' enrollments exceed school capacity; consequently, additional school facilities will
be needed for any future enrollment growth.
3. The .approval of general plan amendments, zone changes, rezonings, annexations, specific area
plans, parcel maps and residential development projects will create future enrollment growth for
which additional school facilities will be needed.
4. The proposed homes in this Project would generate additional elementary students and high school
students.
5. The cost of providing additional elementary school facilities for enrollment growth is $9,997 per
student or$5,498 per new home. Likewise, the cost of providing additional high school facilities
for enrollment growth is$19,729 per student or $4,538 per new home. Therefore, the total impact
of new residential development on K-12 school facilities for the Districts is $10,036 per new home.
145 N LINCOLN WAY • GALT • CA • 95632 • PHONE 209/745-3061 • FAX# 209174510881
THIS DISTRICT IS ANI EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER AND COMPLIES WITH TITLE IX
