PERCOLATION TEST RESULTS
SSS§6.2. To assess the permeability at prescribed depths of the on-site soils, the two
aforementioned percolation test borings were completed in the locations depicted on the
preliminary Site Plan found in Appendix C.
SSS§ 6.3. After drilling the perc test borings, the sidewalls of the shallow boring was scored
with a pry-bar to open potentially smeared sidewalls. The deep test boring could not be scored
due to its depth. Two inches of fine gravel was placed at the bottom and three-inch perforated
PVC pipe was inserted in each test boring. On June 25,2012, each boring was pre-saturated with
24 inches of water at 0900 hrs, 24 hrs before the start of testing.
SSS§ 6.4, 6.5. On June 26,2012,percolation testing commenced. No standing water was
observed after the 24-hr soak period in both of the test borings, consequently, EHD Perc Test
Procedure#2 was conducted for both test borings. Testing was done over a four-hour period to
induce maximum soil saturation.
The test results indicat rapid ut not excessively rap'dtperc rates at the 42 inch and 96 inch depth
test depths. A summary e perc test results-with corresponding application rates in gallons of
effluent accepted per square foot of soil per day are illustrated in Table 2:
TABLE 2
PERCOLATION TEST RESULTS WITH CORRESPONDING
APPLICATION RATES IN GALLONS/FT=/DAY
42 INCH DEEP PERC TEST BORING 5.8 min/inch / 1.029 gallons/ft/day
PERCOLATION RATE/APPLICATION RATE
96 INCH DEEP(8.0 FT)PERC TEST BORING 6.9 min/inch / 0.970 gallons/W/day
PERCOLATION RATE/APPLICATION RATE
App5cwim Rat adapted fmm Califcr Smm Water Reaa Cw of Board CWde&wsfor Me Vi) ofSe a Symm and is based m the I m Rate.
4
