An application package for the <br /> Fund has been provided. <br /> The Fund was created pursuant to Chapter 6.75 of the California Health and <br /> Safety Code to. help eligible owners and operators of petroleum underground <br /> storage tanks to: <br /> 1. Meet federal requirements to demonstrate financial responsibilityr <br /> 2. Obtain reimbursement for costs of the cleanup of unauthorized j <br /> releases of petroleum from UST's; and <br /> f <br /> 3. Obtain reimbursement for damages awarded to third parties who are <br /> injured by petroleum releases. <br /> The maximum amount available fromithia Fund is $990,000 per. occurrence. <br /> Claimants are responsible for the first $10,000 of eligible costs. <br />• Applitations must be submitted to 'the sWRCB Clean Up Fund by March 31, 1994 to <br /> undergo eligibility ranking for funding in the 1994-95 state fiscal budget <br /> year. All subsurface investigations and 'remedial actions must be performed <br /> under a workplanlapprbved by PHS/EHD. <br /> The Fund does not cover the costs incurred for the removal, repair, 'retrofit, <br /> or installation of USTs.
