The holes were excavated to a depth of 42 inches and <br /> 8 inches in diameter. They were backfilled with 2 inches of"pea gravel." <br /> 5.3 Description of soil lithology as noted from test pit by appropriate professional using <br /> industry standard protocol: The soil in this area is classified as Archerdale clay loam as stated <br /> in the Soil Survey of San Joaquin County, California as provided by the United States <br /> Department of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service. <br /> 5.4 Discussion of soil lithology as related to future onsite septic uses: The Archerdale clay) <br /> loam has a slow permeability. The low permeability was demonstrated by the low <br /> percolation rate in hole 1. Percolation rates in hole 2 were uncharacteristic to the-said soil i <br /> type and resulted in a good percolation rate. (See Appendix). <br /> 6.0 PERCOLATION TEST INFORMATION SECTION <br /> 6.1 Site Map Showing the location, with concise and accurate dimensions of the percolation <br /> test holes on the parcel: See Appendix. <br /> 6.2 The Minimum Number of Shallow and Deep Percolation Tests was Performed for Each <br /> Parcel: Two shallow percolation test holes were prepared, one on each proposed parcel. No <br /> deep percolation tests were performed. <br /> 6.3 Description of the Date, Time and Protocol Used to Prepare the Test Hole, Including <br /> Depth and Dimensions of Hole, Preparation of Hole, and Depth of Water Used to Presoak <br /> (Minimum 12 Inches): The shallow test holes were excavated to a depth of 42 inches and <br /> 8 inches in diameter and backfilled with 2 inches of"pea gravel" in accordance with County <br /> Standards. Tlie-shallow'holes were prepared by Louie Mendez of Dillon & Murphy on April 26,- <br /> ,,2'005. On April.27, 2005-at 7:30 a.m. the 24 hour presoak period was started. The hole was <br /> filled with 12 inches of water over the gravel and at this time Environmental Health Department <br /> was notified of the start of the test. <br /> 6.4 Description of the Date,Time and Condition of the Test Hole After the 24-Hour Soak <br /> Period (Hole Still Intact, Hole Dry,Depth to Water Remaining in Hole, Etc.):',,On-L <br /> April 28, 2005 the two shallow test holes did not contain any water. Six inches of water was , <br /> added to each hole. There was a continuous drop in the water level and the shallow test was + <br /> .,coritinifed for four hours. <br /> 6.5 The Test Conformed to San Joaquin County Policy EHD 02-02 (Correct Depth, <br /> diameter, 2" gravel, 6" Water Refill, Correct Readings Recorded): The percolation tests <br /> conformed to San Joaquin County Policy EHD 02-02. <br /> i <br /> 6.6 Complete Percolation Test Form (Including Readings) Was Provided With RENS <br /> Verification Signature.
