• SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY
Introduction
Live Oak GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (Live Oak) was contracted by Joseph Sanguinetti to
conduct a Soil Suitability Study for his property located at 18626, 18638, and 18704
East Copperopolis Road, Linden, California (Plate 1).
The Soil Suitability Study was conducted to determine whether the soils are suitable for
use with a septic system. The study was performed according to the requirements of
Section 9-1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County Development Code.
The formatting of the report has been designed to follow the recommendations of the
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department as described in its Soil
Suitability Study Requirements Checklist.
Proposed Development
A minor subdivision is proposed to divide the Site a 1.92-acre homesite parcel, a 3.24-
acre homesite parcel, two 40.00-acre parcels, and a 78.25-acre designated remainder 'L
(Plate 2). Mr. Sanguinetti indicated that no changes to the use of the Site are planned.
• Site Description
The Site consists of Assessor's Parcel Numbers (APN) 183-210-01 and -02,
approximately 163 acres in size. It is located at 18626, 18638, and 18704 East
Copperopolis Road, Linden, California. The Site is a walnut orchard with a large J
agricultural facility, including four shops, a barn, two pole barns, an office, six silos, two
houses, a cottage, and several sheds. Water is provided to the Site by a domestic well
and an irrigation well (Plates 3 and 4).
The elevation of the Site, according to a United States Geological Survey topographic
map, is approximately 75 to 80 feet above mean sea level (Plate 5). The Site is
relatively flat.
The San Joaquin County Community Development Department web site states that the
Site is zoned AG-40, general agriculture with a minimum parcel size of 40 acres. This
zoning designation "is established to preserve agricultural lands for the continuation of
commercial agricultural enterprises."
•
LOGE 1704 Page 1
