This report also contains an evaluation of remedial options an
recommendations for future site activities. This report was prepared on behalf of Dr_ A.R.
Glover, the property owner, in response to a verbal conversation with Mr. Ron Rowe of the San
Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD).
F=
1.1 Site Location
The project site is located at 7675 West Eleventh Street, between MacArthur Drive and Chrisman
Road, in Tracy, California. The site location is shown on Figure 1. The vicinity of the site is
primarily a commercial and industrial area. The property is owned by Dr. A.R. Glover.
The site is located on generally level terrain which slopes gently toward the Tom Paine Slough, a
northwest trending extension of the delta located approximately 2.5 miles north of the site.
1.2 Site Baclr2round
On October 15, 1986, two 500-gallon gasoline underground storage tanks (USTs) were removed
from the site. During removal of the USTs, petroleum product was observed in the southern
portion of the UST excavation (Figure 2). Soil samples were collected from 2 feet below the
bottom of the USTs, and petroleum constituents and lead were detected in the soil samples.
On July 18, 1995, Smith Technology supervised the installation of three groundwater monitoring
wells, MW-1, MW-2, and MW-3 at the locations shown on Figure 2. Soil boring and well
{ construction logs are contained in Appendix A. During installation of the monitoring wells, soil
samples were collected from the borings. On July 21, 1995, Smith Technology developed and
sampled monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2, and MW-3. Analytical results of the soil samples
collected delineated the vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbon contamination of the vicinity of
the former gasoline UST locations. Analytical results are summarized in Tables 1 and 2. This
Jphase of work is detailed in Smith Technology Corporation's Problem Assessment Report,
w:1951221reportslparcap.doc 1
