1 <br /> 1 <br /> ADDITIONAL SOIL AND GROUNDWATER <br /> INVESTIGATION AND THIRD QUARTER 1996 <br /> GROUNDWATER MONITORING REPORT <br /> at <br /> 1 <br /> Fayette Manufacturing Site f <br /> Tracy, California <br /> C <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> This report presents the findings of a soil and groundwater investigation conducted by Smith <br /> Technology Corporation at the former Fayette Manufacturing site in Tracy, California (Figure <br /> 1). This investigation was performed on behalf of Dr. A.R. Glover, the property owner, in <br /> response to a letter dated November 14, 1995 from Mr. Ron Rowe of the San Joaquin County <br /> E Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD). The work was <br /> Y <br /> performed in accordance with Smith Technology's "Workplan for Additional Subsurface <br /> Investigation" dated January 3, 1996, "Addendum to the Workplan for Additional Subsurface <br /> Investigation" dated May 3, 1996, and "Attachment to the Addendum to the Workplan for <br /> " Additional Subsurface Investigation" dated June 25, 1996. <br /> L <br /> The work performed for this investigation included locating underground utilities, obtaining <br /> permits from the PHS/EHD; drilling and advancing nine soil borings; collecting soil, soil <br /> vapor and grab groundwater samples from each boring; submitting selected soil, soil vapor and <br /> groundwater samples for laboratory analysis; and conducting a well survey. In addition, Third <br /> CQuarter 1996 groundwater monitoring and sampling of the wells was performed. <br /> r <br /> 1.1 Site Location <br /> The project site is located at 7675 West Eleventh Street; between MacArthur Drive and' <br /> Chrisman Road, in Tracy, California. The site location is shown on Figure 1. The vicinity of <br /> the site is primarily a commercial and industrial area. The property is owned by Dr.,A.R. <br /> Glover. ` <br /> 4.� <br /> The site is located on generally level terrain which slopes gently toward the Tom Paine <br /> Slough, a northwest trending extension of the delta located approximately 2.5 miles north of <br /> the site. <br /> w:195122TIumerpt <br /> SIY�TN <br />
