Parrish and Sons recently inspected the disposal field and determined the automatic distribution
valve is working correctly. The automatic distribution valve sends effluent to the beds alternately
with each pump cycle through a hydraulically activated valve switch. D.A. Parrish and Sons
recommended that the grease interceptor tank and first and fourth septic tanks be deep cleaned
and water jetted. They recommend establishing a regular maintenance program to prevent the
build-up of grease `dn Irll insuring a long life for the septpc systelm exist. Inspection and maintenance
is an important fa
At this point, it is our professional opinion
h fol three factors potentially may have caused the tvvb
d
north side beds to be overly Y a
+ Initial flow estimates in regard to facility use were too low. The initial estimates were based
on water meter and some projections were based on the square feet of the building.
Attendance and use of the facility may have been underestimated. The design flow estimate
was at 4,800 gallons per day.
Soil percolation rate is more variable below the three beds than what was observed. Ground
water mounding may be occurring on the two north side beds, but not observed on the
south bed.
Grease and oil may have made its way to the disposal field, reducing the permeability of the
soil, ultimately plugging the leach system.
ANGELS CAMP LODI SACRAMENTO - RENO • MODESTO - WALNUT CREEL(
L 0 D 1 9021ndustrial Way Lodi,CA 95240 = 209.367.3701 -- FAX 209-369.4229 wmcnoanderson.com
