TC
A"S S O C I A T E I N CIL .
Geoprobe® borings:in the down radient direction.have S , ave detectable concentrations of TPHg and
BTEX constituents.
Wells MW-4 and MW-5 were placed far enough apart in the downgradient direction that it is
possible to have the-plumemigrating between the two wells.: The'very low to noridetectable
concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons currently detected in these.wells coupled with the
detected concentrations_ of TPHg.and BTEX in the groundwater samples collected.from borings
GP 1 and GP2 suggest that the petroleum hydrocarbon plume beneath the site extends between
the two wells.-
.Since
ells:.Since no receptors are located in the downgradient direction, ATC considers the site to be a low
risk. The petroleumlydrocarbon plume beneath the site appears to be stable as evidenced by low
to nondetectable concentrations in downgradient;wells MW-4 and MW-5 and decreasing
concentrations in wells MW-2 and MW-3., located in the center of the plume. In:the judgment of
ATC, no further site 4nvestigation.is necessary to define the vertical or lateral extent of petroleum
hydrocarbons in soil and/or groundwater. ATC recommends proceeding with site closure.
-. s:\178611reports\sum2004.doc - 7
f.
