Glover, Smith Environmental Technologies Corporation has prepared this letter report <br /> summarizing the First Quarter 1996 Groundwater Monitoring and site activities performed at the <br /> above referenced site (Figure 1). Sampling was performed to monitor the distribution of <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons in groundwater at the site. Monitoring was performed to determine the <br /> groundwater flow direction.and.the hydraulic gradient in the uppermost aquifer. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> Site Location <br /> The project site is located at 7675 West Eleventh Street,between MacArthur Drive and Chrisman <br /> Road, in Tracy, California. The site location is shown on Figure 1. The vicinity of the site is <br /> primarily a commercial and industrial area. The property is owned by Dr. A.R. Glover. <br /> The site is located on generally level terrain which slopes gently toward the Tom Paine Slough, a <br /> northwest trending extension of the delta.located approximately 2.5 miles.north of the site. <br /> Previous Work <br /> On October 15, 1986, two 500-gallon gasoline USTs were removed from•the site. During <br /> removal of the USTs, petroleum product was noted present in the southern UST excavation <br /> (Figure 2). Soil samples were collected from 2 feet below the bottom of the USTs, and petroleum <br /> constituents and lead were detected in the soil samples. <br /> On July 18, 1995, Smith Environmental supervised the installation of three groundwater <br /> monitoring wells, MW-1, MW-2, and MW-3 (Figure 2). During installation of the monitoring <br /> wells, soil samples were collected from the borings. On July 21, 1995; Smith Environmental <br /> developed and.sampled monitoring wells MW4, MW-2.and MW-3.
