Cummings and
Associates (JPCA) , to elucidate some of the information which was
not clear and to correct the soil data errors in the original
report, dated 10 May 1999. This information is submitted based
on questions you and I discussed in our telephone conversation.
The information found in Table A of the original File Closure
Report was taken from MSDS, Handbook of Chemistry and Physics,
CRC Press, 18901 Cranwood Parkway, Cleveland Ohio and Conversion
Factors, The University of Chicago Press, Chicago, IL.
The Well Survey data reported by the City of Tracy was that no
known wells exist to the north, (the Tracy City limits are
adj-acent to the subject site boundary on the northern side)
within 2,000 feet of the former UST excavation. A reconnaissance
_ Lir automorie and binocularz conducted by JPCA did not observe
any wells to the north of the subject site within 2,000 feet.
The thickness of the first aquifer, identified as ten feet, was
based on the field drilling soil analysis and boring log data.
The Non Detectable boundary for soil was estimated from the field
drilling and boring log data as well as the information
identified in the SMITH Reports. The soil results from the
boring identified as MW 3 along with the information contained in
the SMITH Reports was used to ascertain the lateral limits of
soil contamination.
The TPHG data in Table B was erroneously transposed. The data
from the original UST excavation report is not germane as the
1
