The groundwater samples from MW-1 and MW-BT collected on August
24, 1999 and analyzed for TPHD contained Non Detectable
concentrations of Diesel.
6. HISTORICAL GROUNDWATER LEVELS
The historical groundwater levels have varied from approximately
5 feet to 7 feet below surface. These levels at the approximate
distances above sea level are identified in Table 3 .
A. Gradient Summar
The calculated groundwater gradient data was N220W or 3380 at
0 . 004 ft/ft in November 1997 , N260W or 3340 at 0 . 004 ft/ft in
March 1998, N251E or 0250 at 0 . 05 ft/ft in July 1998, N80W or
3520 at 0 . 004 ft/ft in October 1998 , N11°W or 3490 at 0 . 003 ft/ft
in March 1999 .
The calculated groundwater gradient is generally northerly at
approximately 0 . 004 ft/ft.
7 . CONTAMINATION DISTRIBUTION
A. SOIL
1 . VERTICAL DISTRIBUTION
Based on the work reported by SMITH and JPCA, the first five feet
of soil has no detectable hydrocarbon contamination. SMITH
reported the information at Page 2 of their Phase II Report. The
reported hydrocarbon contamination in the soil was detected
between approximately five and twenty feet below surface level .
2 . LATERAL DISTRIBUTION
The area outlined in Figure 5 for soil contamination is
approximately 7, 500 ft2. The SMITH report identified no
hydrocarbon contamination beyond fifty feet of the UST on Figure
3 of their Phase II report.
The calculated volume of contaminated soil is approximately
8
