The earlier portion of the diesel range is not present.
The chromatograms for samples WSPT B1W 8' and WSPT B1W 9.25' are more
complicated. A possible explanation is a mixture of two fuels: diesel and gasoline or
diesel and kerosene. Other testing showed that sample WSPT B1W 9.25' contained
Toluene, Ethyl Benzene, and Xylenes. These compounds were not found in sample
WSPT B1W 8 .
Our standard operating procedure for quantitation of extractable hydrocarbon
samples is to include all peaks between the "IF" markings except the surrogate peak and
any known extraction artifacts. The "IF" markings indicate the beginning and ending of
quantitation set for the integrator.
Very truly yours,
SEQUOIA ANALYTICAL
Vickie Tague
Project Manager
enc.
t
