Prior to grouting, the wellbores will be sounded to ensure no obstructions. The
` holes will be overexcavated to a depth of three feet and the casing cut off. Neat cement grout will then
be pumped through tremie equipment to fill the wellbores to within three feet of the ground surface.
i Additional grout will then be applied, allowing it to overspill and form a cap to ground surface.
Pressure grouting will be conducted by a C-57 licensed contractor. Well destruction permit applications
and fees will be mailed to PHS/EHD under separate cover.
DISPOSITION OF CONTAMINATED MATERIALS
Drill cuttings from the onsite monitoring wells and soil borings along with the soil excavated from the
former tankpit were treated in Western Stone Product's Hughson, CA asphalt plant. Following
treatment, two samples were analyzed for leachable (TCLP) diesel and BTEX. No analytes were
detected. The treated soil was used as roadbase on the Geer Road project between Zeering and Monte
Vista in Turlock, CA.
Approximately 21,000 gallons of groundwater pumped from the excavation pit was biotreated in a Baker
tank until contaminant concentrations could not be detected. With the approval of the RWQCB, the
treated water was discharged to the surface at the site. Water generated from quarterly purging of wells
which did notcontaindetectable contaminant concentrations was periodically discharged to the surface
i
I
