/VPlY
/t"/VA
Working To Restore Nature
Available Technology for soil remediation at the site. Removal of all impacted soil was
: .
not possible due to an overlying building. Petroleum hydrocarbon impacted soil was
removed by excavation from the areas which were accessible.
o Based on groundwater analyses prior to excavation from downgradient wells MW3 and
MW4 only minor and sporadic groundwater impact resulted from contact with
contaminated soil. Sampling of well MW3 subsequent to source removal excavation has
r.>I
detected no groundwater impact. It is concluded that the organic rich, fine grained soils
.:3 at the site are highly adsorptive of petroleum hydrocarbons.
Gy.i
C-' The shallow groundwater in the Tracy area is not suitable for consumption or irrigation
and has limited beneficial use. It is not expected that residual soil contamination will
result in measurable groundwater impact nor will public health or beneficial uses be
a adversely affected.
i-
6.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Source removal excavation succeeded in removing from the subsurface all accessible petroleum
hydrocarbon contaminated soil. Residual soil contamination, inaccessible to excavation exists
beneath a concrete floored building on site. Based upon historical analytical data, this residual
soil contamination should not result in detectable groundwater degradation.
No groundwater contamination currently exists, as evidenced by analyses of water samples from
downgradient monitoring well MW3. Case closure is recommended.
f^" OW01951REPORTSICLo12594.FNL 13
s-z`
