Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
RE: Genstar/Western Stone Products, 8181 West Eleventh Street, Tracy, CA
Dear Ms. Meays;
This letter presents the results of the First Quarter 1993 monitoring at the above referenced site
and a response to correspondence from San Joaquin County Public Health Services,
= r Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) dated December 9, 1993 (received via facsimile
1111193).
Quarterly monitoring activities included measurement of the depth to water in wells MW1, MW2
and MW3 and the purging and sampling of well MW3. Additionally, water samples were
collected from the Baker Tank to gauge the success of bioremediation.
QUARTERLY GROUNDWATER MONITORING AND SAMPLING
Groundwater monitoring and sampling was conducted on January 26, 1993. Monitoring wells
MW1, MW2, and MW3 were monitored for depth to groundwater, and the downgradient well
MW3 was purged and sampled.
Depth to groundwater measured in wells MW1, MW2, and MW3 was subtracted from wellhead
elevation to determine groundwater elevation (Table 1). Water levels on January 26, 1993 had
risen approximately 1.8 feet since last measured in October 1992. Figure 2 depicts the
groundwater gradient on January 26, 1993. Gradient magnitude was approximately 0.004 ft/ft
or 21 ft/mile in a north-northwesterly direction. Monitoring data is presented in Attachment 1.
On January 26, 1993, after purging and stabilization of pH, conductivity, and temperature a
groundwater sample was collected from downgradient well MW3. An additional sample was
1 Q MR l 993.FNL
